My family home is Nutbush Wild Onion Ridge, just up the road from where Tina grew up and have walked the same roads from 1949 to the present. I attended Woodlawn Elementary and Carver in Brownsville while growing up. We lived in Joliet, Illinois 30 years, attended Joliet Central High School, Joliet Junior College and Southern Illinois University.
My Masters is in Media Communications from Governors State University in Park Forest South, Illinois. I’m a semi-retired educator, a researcher, writer and I dabble in film production, water colors and photography. I pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha and I’m a Delta Kappa Gamma.
We are dedicated coin collectors and my small water colors (Nutbush themed) are presented to the market from time to time. Our coin collection is extensive and includes (West Tennessee area/Civil War) acquired coins from 1800’s through present. We will also eventually sell our collection to a person who enjoys coin collecting as much as we do.
I would love to see Nutbush developed and become a Branson, Missouri or Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It has been a life long dream and it would be nice to have Anna Mae (Tina) return for a visit. She could come to Wild Onion Ridge and walk to Flagg Grove and Spring Hill. Maybe someday that will be a reality.
Thousands of visitors have come to Nutbush and thousands more want to come but have no accomodations. We developed our family home, Wild Onion Ridge into a rustic music park for fans who wanted to visit and tour. The effort became too overwhelming for me alone so I closed the park. Time brings about progress and change and I am confident that someday the area will eventually develop.
I would one day love to vist Nutbush to see where Tina grew up at. Tina is a great role model for young girls my age what happens to be 17 and older woman. Thanks for the information provided. It would be nice for Tina to go back home for a chance. I read somehwere that you are related to her. That must be amazing. Have a great day. Like I said thanks for the info.
